Credit boost: a card with a high limit and a long history in your report
You are added as an authorized user to a credit card with a long clean history, a high limit and a low balance. Within one or two reporting cycles the card's history appears in your report and counts toward your score. We match cards to your profile and tell you honestly when a tradeline won't help.
This is not a loan and no money is issued: you receive authorized user status on an active account with history and a limit. Results are individual.

Four steps from choosing a card to a report with a strong credit history in it.
Choose a card or a package
Look at the limit, age and reporting date. Pick a bank you have no history with: the effect is more noticeable.
Make the "add by date"
Before this date the cardholder adds you as an authorized user. The bank needs your SSN and address for reporting; you have no access to the card's funds.
The card shows in your report
In the reporting window the bureaus receive the card's history: a long age, a high limit and low utilization that does not hurt your score.
Two cycles and beyond
The card stays in your report for two reporting cycles and can be extended for an additional fee. During this time you can apply for credit cards, a mortgage or an auto loan yourself.

Amex does not report account age to the bureaus, only the limit. The "add by" and "reporting" dates refer to the calendar month. This service is not a loan and does not guarantee a specific score increase: if your report has recent collections, charge-offs or late payments, a tradeline most likely won't help, and we will suggest disputing the entries under the FCRA first. We do not work with CPNs.
Not sure which card to choose?
Send your report — a manager will match lines to your profile and tell you honestly whether to start with a boost or first dispute entries under the FCRA.
Questions
Is it legal?
Yes. Adding an authorized user is provided for by bank rules, and the bureaus count such accounts in the report.
Who it's not for
If your report has recent collections, charge-offs or late payments, an FCRA dispute comes first.
How to choose a card
A bank you have no history with, an age above your average, a limit above your current one.
When the line appears in the report
Usually after the card's next reporting date, no later than 60 days from the first reporting date.
Who can add a line
An adult with a valid SSN and accurate personal information.
What is not included in the service
Access to the card, its number and funds. You only get the account history in your report.
